1) Be respectfull. Any person who is rude to a member, will get warning points.
2) No sexually, or violence graphic details. If you want to include either in your RP's, just do not add graphic details. You will get more warning points for this.
3) If you do create a RP, please make sure you have control over it, or ask a Mod to join it, and have them help you. You will not get in trouble if you ask a Mod for help.
4) Ask questions! That's what we Mods are here for. We don't bite.
5) Include people! If a person is forgotten in a RP and comes to one of us, we will check out the sitution and then decide if the RP should be closed.
6)If your RP has more than two people Power-playing is strictly fobidden. this is when the people who are online play between themselves, maikng multiple posts each and often leaving other players behind not knowing whats going on. it's rude and hurtful.
7) DO NOT GODMOD! i will explain in detail what this is further down the page. if this is found your account will be temporarily suspended and if the offence is repeated multiple times you will be banned and your account will be deleted. this is one of the most serious offences in a role-playing community.
There are two styles of role-play, private and open.
Private is with just two or three people, and the people who are going to be in it and the storyline has been decided beforehand through PM. these are not open for general joining.
Open role-plays are ones where the storyline and a sign-up sheet is provided. any members can join, although the creator of the RP may put a limit on how many people can join.
When you have finished creating a role-play please put in parenthesis () either open, or private so people know if they can join or not. if you are currently working on a role-play but have not finished it, you may put it up still with (under construction) next to the title. that way everyone knows it is not yet ready.
Role-plays are done in third person.
So " I followed bob, jumping over the fence." would be the improper way to write it.
you would put, " Jenny followed bob, jumping over the fence."
The styles of RPing are Script and Novel
Script is
Seth: hey, want to go out for pizza? >smiles<
Novel would be
" hey, want to go out for pizza?" Seth says, smiling.
Novel is most appropriate for Rping sites, but if you wish to play script stye make sure and put that in your introduction to your RP.
If you wish to talk about your role-play while role-playing, such as talking out time skips and plot changes, or even just some action, please make sure it is distinct from the RP. use either
~blahblahblah
or
((blahblahblah))
at the bottom of the page, after your line had been written.
~random amount of time later~
is the style normally used for time skips. obviously the amount of time will vary depending. it could be from a few minutes to a couple years.
God Modding
God modding is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.
-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply can’t be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as
Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission.
The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they’re not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they’ve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It’s a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it’s offensive to boot.
This is a prime example of God Modding:
Player A: Punches Player B
Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.
